Greetings and welcome to our first ever newsletter. The purpose of this is to keep you informed as to what we are up to, where we are shooting and what new technologies we have employed and how they will effect you.

On the subject of technology, email is proving to be a great way to communicate without taking up your time on the phone. However, all good things have their downside. Spam is out of control and wastes a lot of our time each day. With that in mind, if you prefer not to hear from us via email, please let us know and we will remove you from our list. Our email newsletter will not likely go out more than once a month.

Location and Travel

Maintaining a specialty such as architectural photography means extensive travel when based in a small city such as Rochester, New York. Therefore we are on the go constantly. In an effort to save on travel costs we often schedule several assignments together in a single locale. Over the last year our work outside of New York has taken us to Florida, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Colorado, Toronto, Michigan, Bermuda and Switzerland. As our client base is building in South Florida, we will be there (mainly the Miami area) at least once per month. Same goes for the New York City / Long Island area. If you would like to schedule a shoot with us in one of these areas, let’s talk. Additionally we have assignments scheduled this summer in Dillon, Colorado and Athens, Greece.

Monograph Series

If you have been on our mailing list over the past few years, you have been receiving our Mini Monograph Series books. These are small books designed to entertain as much as serve as a promotional piece. We’ve conveniently sized them to match a CD case so they can be stored on any shelf or rack designed to hold your CD’s and DVD’s. If you’ve held onto them, you’ve probably noticed that they are sequentially numbered and make up a series that currently contains twenty books. If you have not received one and would like to, please let us know. Our next one is scheduled to go out very soon and is titled "School Book". It is a collection of photos we’ve made, primarily at grade schools. More and more, we are including children in our school architectural photographs. They bring life to buildings like only children can.

Technology

Digital photography. What is it all about and what does it mean to you? There is so much to discuss here that I will save most of it for our next newsletter. In short, we have been testing over the past two years and now using most of the time, a high resolution 22 megapixel digital capture back that is designed to be used on a view camera. Thus all the controls of our traditional 4x5 camera are still part of our shooting routine. I will elaborate on how this affects you in our next newsletter.
